This article is dedicated to the memory of Evelyn Muriel Brannock Romney, whose eccentricities and imperfections were used to justify the social abuse of topical shunning, gas lighting and dismissive disregard for the inequities and injustices she brought to the attention of her church leaders while friends and family and all too many church leaders avoided the inconvenience of taking her seriously.

Her departure from among us was her own choice. She simply stopped eating, in a world that had no time for her. She declined medical help or assistance when it was offered.

We acknowledge with gratitude, the kindnesses of Bishop Jonny Bobo.
