“Meticulously researched, this book represents Jeremy’s sincere, heartfelt, and herculean effort to gather and discern the basic evidence regarding LDS church origins. It is an incredible labor of love ... for truth. Mormon apologists have tried—and failed—to discredit CES Letter. If you want to quickly learn the main historical and scientific issues with LDS church truth claims, I know of no other resource—on the Internet or in print—that is more accurate, concise, and yet comprehensive. I highly recommend this book.”

John P. Dehlin, PHd is the founder of the website mormonstories.org

John Dehlin is also a former member of the board of directors of the Sunstone Educational Foundation, well known for its publication of Sunstone Magazine, featuring discussion of Mormonism through scholarship, art, short fiction and poetry.

John Dehlin is also a co-founder of StayLDS a community that was dedicated to helping unorthodox Mormons stay in the church.

In 2013 Dehlin contributed significantly to the organization of efforts that resulted in the publication of the Faith Crisis Report delivered to the First Presidency of the LDS Church. The Faith Crisis report examines and exposes the human suffering caused with the discovery by countless Mormons of the willful factual misrepresentations in official LDS Church sanctioned narratives of the LDS Church history. The CES Letter by Jeremy Runnells addresses numerous of those historical controversies.

The Faith Crisis reports documents the severity of the human damages caused by the conduct of the LDS Church leadership and is cited as evidence in the 2019 class action lawsuit for fraud against the LDS Church brought on behalf of Laura Gaddy and other former Mormons similarly situated by Kay Burningham, Attorney at Law.

Dehlin was ultimately excommunicated from the LDS Church in 2015 ostensibly on the basis of his activities in connection with mormonstories.org. He appealed his excommunication to the First Presidency of the Church. The appeal was denied.
