Justice means different things to different people at different times. It is a subjective concept that warrants closer examination. For a social order to be successful, the members of the order need to agree on the fundamental aspects of justice that they subscribe to.

The rights and obligations of fair, honest, and forthright communication also warrant closer scrutiny. Opinions will vary on the subject of those rights and obligations, depending on the circumstances.

Similarly, opinions about the legitimacy and appropriateness of advocacy, enforcement, and defense will also vary. Social orders must adopt standards that are acceptable to the members of the order to be successful.

A reasonable system of prioritized values must have support within the group or order. When people's legitimate interests in competing values are found to be in conflict, mutually supportable priorities must be shared and respected as a guide to the resolution of conflict.
